Their mission is to foster compassion and respect for all living beings and the environment by education youth and teachers in Humane Education. I love that the charity teaches kids about world issues like the environment and the humane treatment of animals, two things that are very important to me!
It took Andy Street and I about a week to write the song. I wanted to make sure it wasn't about me, but more about giving back and helping HEART have a voice in the music community.
Optimistic Stars is based on the charity and how they teach children about world issues and how to give back to the community. I was so inspired by the uniqueness of the charity while writing this, my favorite line is definitely: Creating smiles is all we wanna do, we're taking the time to change another life.

I recorded Optimistic Stars at Nola Studios in NYC, which is one of my favorite places! The place is so cool because it has these old-school microphones which gives you a really cool echo-y sound, kind of as if you're performing live. It reminds me of something the old school jazz singers would have used! Can you imagine?? Ali Isabella in the shadow of all the great singers that sang in this studio!! So Cool!
The extra special touch to the day were the kids that came and joined me in singing the chorus. They had a lot of fun helping me and they got to stand in the big recording room with headsets while I sang in the vocal booth.

We thought it would be nice to do it this way, kind of show people that the song, like the charity, is a group effort! We will be releasing the song soon - can't wait to share it with everybody!!
